About 17 per cent of adult Victorians are interested in building a home
With the price of real estate increasing significantly across most Melbourne suburbs, more Victorian adults are becoming interested in building a home. According to a survey that we conducted, about 17 percent of adult Victorians are interested in building a home in 2017. This is a surprising result and shows how much Victorians love new homes.
People interested in building included those that already own in a location that they love and just want to knockdown and rebuild on their existing land. Others who are interested are drawn to the affordability of new house and land packages in the new developments in the outer ring suburbs where they can enjoy a larger home on a larger block at a cheaper price than buying in an inner city suburb. These new developments are have a wide range of newly built facilities and other amenities that families enjoy.
House and land packages are particularly popular with first home buyers due to their affordable nature. You might say that house and land packages are averting what some say is a housing affordability crisis for younger Australians.
